ALL WEATHER ARTISTS...CABBI en plein air painters

ALL WEATHER ARTISTS *CABBI en plein air Painting Group* How about leaving the comfort of your studio and painting “en plein air” with a Tutor and a group of CABBI members? Let’s just dress for the weather and go out into it! Every Tuesday at 9am to 12.30pm a venue is selected at a beach, town or forest where we can choose our subject and paint in Watercolour, Pastel, Oil, Acrylic or sketch with Pencil or Ink. The cost is $10 including Tutoring or $5 if you just want to come along. Beginners to Experienced artists welcome. After setting up, the Tutor will do a short demonstration painting and then we will commence our own painting or drawing. You will be given guidance throughout the morning where needed, sharing the time amongst whoever is there on the day. We will conclude with a show of our day’s work and brief discussion. Please bring all your paintings to the next meeting to show other members the result! Due to insurance, this is open only to CABBI members (so that the public is covered it they trip over our equipment or something unforeseen). Bring all your own gear: *Camera *Morning tea & drink *Chair *Easel and/or small table – your preference *Water & container to drink and paint with *Paints & Brushes *Apron (opt.) *Canvas or paper to suit your medium *View finder if you have one *Kitchen paper/rags Pack your car the night before so that you can catch the early light! COLOURS IN INK - Exhibition by Sheryl Miller at Bungendore Fine Art

COLOURS IN INK Exhibition NOVEMBER at BUNGENDORE FINE ART Sheryl who is well known for her masterful depiction of flowers in Watercolour and Acrylic has recently discovered brightly coloured Inks as a medium. The excitement and colour of these paintings has come from many years of experimenting with Watercolour and Inks to make a style that is distinctly her own. The colours are fresh and bright and show a great knowledge of her chosen painting medium. This Exhibition "Colours in Ink", her fourth at Bungendore Fine Art, features her new technique. Vibrant coloured Inks are poured onto paper and allowed to mingle to produce unexpected results and thus creating luscious bush scenes or flower paintings. The challenge to the Artist is to contain the ink before it overmixes or runs off the paper. Sheryl's other paintings in the exhibition are done in a more controlled way with carefully drawn Still Life art coloured with Inks and Watercolour are jewel colours glowing with life.

2013 MARCH BUNGENDORE FINE ART EXHBITION BY SHERYL MILLER

Batemans Bay Artist Sheryl Miller has long had a reputation for her masterful depiction of flowers in all their variation and beauty. Her love of flowers resonated with an unexpected visitor to her 2012 exhibition at Bungendore Fine Art Gallery. Australian author the late Bryce Courtenay had a special love of sunflowers and Sheryl's Watercolour Sunny Sunflowers so delighted him that he bought it. Sheryl and Bryce discussed their mutual love of flowers and Bryce's belief in their restorative nature, especially cheery sunflowers which he grew in his own garden and would then give away the seeds. He believed they created happiness and wellbeing for the recipient. To her surprise the late author sent Sheryl a flowering potted sunflower and a signed copy of his best selling book Power of One via Bungendore Fine Art Gallery. At the end of the growing season her husband Les plans to harvest the seeds to give away and plant them again next season to keep the dream alive. Sheryl Miller's original interest was in oils but as with all true Artists she experimented with other mediums. She is predominantly self taught and is best know for her transparent Watercolour paintings and she enjoys a wide variety of subjects inspiration for which comes from her local seaside surroundings and her travels throughout Australia and overseas. She attributes her talent, inspiration and love of nature to her mother and grandmother who were both Artists. As well as Watercolour her work includes Acrylic, Pastel & Ink. Her paintings have been acquired for Australian and overseas collections. Sheryl's latest exhibition featuring two watercolours titled Sunny Tribute to Bryce Courtenay and Sunflowers is now showing at Bungendore Fine art, 42 Ellendon street, Bungendore all through March 10am to 4pm daily.
